Yes! we finally have water sports in Karachi. The place is called Dog Island which is not a Pakistani answer to Langkawi or Sentosa Island but certainly has potential to become a tourist spot. The island itself is pretty close to DHA coastline (Golf Club to be specific) but Adventure Water Sports (The enterprenueral venture) has its office behind PAF-KIET in Korangi Industrial Area (10 min ride from CBM). From AWS office you get a boat ride (painfully slow lasting 45 min one way) to the Dog Island. The island is highly polluted and full of dogs (How they ended up there and how do they survive and multiply is still a mystery) but offers quite a few attractions. There are sand dunes, delightful mangroves, and vast empty space for wandering. Sadly you cant go near Mangroves because of shallow water level during the day and submerging of majority of island during the night. AWS package includes Jet ski ride (They only ‘ve two Jet Skis with high probability of one not operating), crazy ride (see the picture) and Parasailing (an overstatement as it is not done with a boat but at a stationary point). Lunch is available for a reasonable cost of mere 500 rupees which is a must.
With the dearth of entertainment activities and increasing cost of doing business in Karachi, AWS has surely done a commendable job and Dog Island excursion is highly recommended. Lets sincerley wish that it proves to be the stepping stone to more sophisticated entertainment activities for public (and not limited to a select few) and does not vanish away from the scene, the way go-karting did (hold on! Apparently its back with a bang. Check here.).

Good sharing, Karachi being the biggest city but the entertainment activities are very limited. Hope this island can be developed and people can have more fun.
