Pam Brown once said “A horse is the projection of peoples’ dreams about themselves – strong, powerful, beautiful – and it has the capability of giving us escape from our mundane existence.”
Could not agree more, Mr. Brown.
The Karachi Riding School is the only place The Karachi Walla knows where Karachiites can get decent riding lessons. Coming from Boat basin, continue your journey straight from BBQ and turn right from the next crossroad (if the road is not blocked by President house guards). Go straight until you see illegally parked oil tankers. Next to the tallest building (although marginally) of neighborhood, you will find horses. lots of them. a lot for any Karachi neighborhood.
There is not much of setup and area looks bit hostile. Oil Tanker mafia and Karachi Skyline developers have taken the area hostage but the school is committed to providing a reasonable Equestrian experience.
Go there even if you don’t dare riding. Enjoy the surreal environment of the area. Horses make a landscape look beautiful*.
