City Life – Artist at work

DSCF1335

The Karachi Walla met Kaleem Khan, a renowned artist from Quetta on a humid day in Clifton. He was busy painting portrait of another talented artist, Aamir Habib. There was a Quetta connection as both the artists hail from there. Nostalgic music was playing in the background, in Pashto and Farsi, some of popular tunes in Quetta from days of yore.

Kaleem Khan had an unflinching focus on his subject and strokes. There was calmness in the air as the evening grew darker and the portrait emerged out on canvas. The artist and the subject took a break and sat next each other looking at the portrait, one in appraisment and the other in admiration.
