There are not many public spaces in Karachi where one could experience Karachi’s diversity in its essence. Thank Lord for the Seaview, One of the few stretches in Karachi where the coastline is still open for public and you don’t have to use your social connections to get entry into. Therefore you find all kind of people there, from Orangi, Glushan, Clifton, Laloo Khet, Garden and all.
Monsoon is perhaps the best time to go to Seaview, when the contrast between Sky and the sand is perhaps at its minimal, with only colors that of people’s clothing. While beach buggies and other rides have popped up along the shoreline, but the traditional munchies and good old sea are good enough to attract people from all walks of lives here. I saw people on Walking chairs for the first time.
In the backdrop, you could see Karachi’s skyline building up. We are bringing Dubai standards to the city, said a real estate tycoon sometime back. Will it bring as much happiness?
