Neco’s Store and Cafe are unique because they strictly use organic ingredients. It means they don’t use genetically-modified, chemical and pesticide treated seeds and crops. It is not a new concept for the region. The Indus Delta farmers were organic farmers who used natural methods of farming. But the lifestyle was lost and forgotten with the advent of more commercial means of production and pest control. There, however exist modern ways of organic farming. And there is still market for organic food. Neco’s intend to bring the idea back to limelight in Karachi. For a restaurant, the decision to use organic material limits the variety and pricon menu but this is not the case with Neco’s whose menu remain competitive. Nilofer Saeed of Copper Kettle fame, has proved it again that a genuine idea can survive in the face of uncertainity. A genuine idea indeed. To reconnect people with nature.
Go there for a breakfast if you have not visited it. The kitchen is visible from the entrance. Clean and Exquisite. It reassures you that extra care is taken to keep your food hygenic. The ground floor cafe has been decorated well giving it a country cottage and market look. The wood has been used extensively but wisely. A tree stands in the middle. The furniture is not spectacular but goes with the theme. A lot of care has been taken in maintaining the theme with small decorative items contributing to overall effect. Order whatever tickles your fancy. Chances are that it will be awesome. French toast, Pasta, Lassi, Juices or Omlette. Neco’s has given a different meaning to the regular items on your mind.
